Askew Cycles  Visit Askew Cycles within a very short walking distance of your accommodation for excellent service, friendly staff, expert advice, and everything needed for cycling. Askews will even store your own bikes for you should you wish to bring them with you. An excellent repair service is also available.

Beales  Beales is Kendal's leading department store and can be found in the heart of the town at the bottom of Finkle Street. Top brand men's and womenswear are available, along with stunning lingerie, great fashion accessories and cosmetics, homeware and more. There are also two cafés serving delicious meals and snacks.

| The Elephant Yard Shopping Centre hosts a wide range of shops selling fashion designer wear, home furnishings, gifts and more. Retailers include Boots, Claire's Accessories, Costa Coffee, Hallmark, Laura Ashley, Monsoon and Next.

The Famous 1657 Chocolate House  The Famous 1657 Chocolate House is an Aladdin's cave of hundreds of handpicked chocolates. It offers a large range of gifts, ideal for any special occasion. Enjoy locally-made ice cream with their own hot chocolate sauce, taste the 'World's Best Fudge' or, in season, you can even buy a chocolate plant (Cosmos atrosanguineus). There is also a café on site with an all-day sweet and savoury menu, and offering 20 different chocolate drinks and 14 handmade gateaux.

Farrer's  Farrer's is an established tea and coffee merchants in the centre of town that has existed in Kendal for almost 100 years. It is one of the oldest independent blenders and roasters of the finest teas and coffee, with its own state-of-the-art coffee roasting plant on the Shap Road Industrial Estate on the edge of town (which you can visit by prior arrangement). There is a small café in the shop, and tea and coffee from Farrer's is provided in our accommodation.

Westmorland Shopping Centre  The Westmorland Shopping Centre in Kendal is a shopper's delight. It's where Victorian heritage mingles effortlessly with designer fashion and where the relaxed ambience of yesteryear meets the vibrancy of a modern shopping environment. In addition to local outlets, High Street retailers such as Argos and Superdrug can also be found here.
