Cleabarrow Tarn
This excellent little fishery is situated on the B5284 Kendal to Bowness road opposite Windermere Golf Club. It is well stocked with roach, rudd, golden rudd, tench, eels and carp, and is open all year round. For further information, contact the Windermere, Ambleside & District Angling Association.

Ratherheath Tarn
On the outskirts of Kendal, this attractive 5-acre tarn is an excellent mixed fishery with 43 permanent pegs. Fish stocks comprise tench, bream, carp, roach, rudd, crucians, gudgeon, perch and chub. Parking is available in the fishery car park or on Ratherheath Lane and a disabled fishing platform is situated within 30 metres of the car park. The fishery is open all year round. Dubbs Trout Fishery
Dubbs is another quiet reservoir situated 750 feet above sea level about one mile south-east of Troutbeck. This seven acre fishery is stocked regularly and has a native brown trout population. Fishing is strictly fly only with a two fish limit but catch and release is encouraged. Barbless hooks only are permitted. Esthwaite Water Trout Fishery
Esthwaite Water is a natural lake extending to 280 acres with deep basins to the north and south. Combined with extensive shallows, it creates a rich and varied fishery. Rainbow and brown trout are re-stocked weekly throughout the season and winter fishing for the native population of specimen pike is legendary. This first class, well managed fishery offers excellent facilities for boat or bank angling and serves as ideal practice water for the competitive angler. Methods include fly, spinning and worm.

Farletonview Fishery
Providing excellent fishing all year round in spring-fed water, Farletonview Fishery provides a main lake which is regularly stocked all year round with top quality hard-fighting rainbows and blues, with browns and tigers stocked for sport fishing. There are full disabled facilities, a large car park and a tearoom and nursery on site. Tuition can be arranged and rod hire is available.

Ghyll Head Trout Fishery
This beautiful 11 acre reservoir commands panoramic views over Windermere and the Lakeland fells. This popular water is stocked regularly throughout the season and rod catch records are consistently above the national average. Rainbow trout in excess of 8lbs have been taken and this fishery also has a head of native brown trout. Fishing is strictly fly only with a two fish limit but catch and release is encouraged. Grasmere & Rydal Water  Both these fisheries offer excellent perch, eel and pike fishing. Specimen pike over 20lbs are caught regularly and Grasmere, in particular, has produced fish in excess of 30lbs. Roach are present in both lakes also, and both are open all year round but from mid-March to mid-June the only methods permitted are spinners, lures, sea deadbaits or fly. Hayeswater Reservoir
This 34-acre North West Water reservoir is situated about seven miles north of Ambleside on the fells to the east of Hartsop on the A592 Kirkstone Pass road. It is a wild brown trout fishery situated at 1,400 feet above sea level and entails a 1.5-mile walk up the track from the car park at Hartsop. High Arnside Tarn
High Arnside is a small hill tarn stocked annually with rainbow trout and it becomes very weedy in the summer. High Newton Trout Fishery
High Newton Fishery is a quiet 10.8 acre reservoir situated nearly 600 feet above sea leave and set in beautiful surroundings four miles north of Grange-over-Sands. This water supply reservoir is stocked at regular intervals throughout the season with rainbow trout and has an excellent population of wild brown trout. Holehird Tarn
Holehird Tarn is a beautifully situated 3 acre estate lake two miles from Windermere just off the A592 road to Troutbeck. The car park is about 200 metres from the fishery which is well stocked with carp, bream, tench, crucians, roach, rudd, gudgeon and chub. Carp in excess of 10lbs are regularly caught. Moss Eccles Tarn
This tarn is situated at Near Sawrey on the western side of Lake Windermere. It is a five acre tarn and offers good fishing for brown trout with fish in excess of two pounds occasionally taken. It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) owned by the National Trust and fishing is strictly fly only with a two fish bag limit. Catch and release is encouraged using barbless hooks. Rivers Brathay and Rothay
Windermere, Ambleside & District Angling Association control several stretches of the River Brathay and River Rothay. Both rivers are feeders of Lake Windermere and contain brown trout with occasional late season sea trout and salmon. In addition the large pool on the Brathay near its confluence with the lake contains pike, perch and eels. Fishing is only allowed with minnow, worm, shrimp, prawn, artificial flies or lures, and the use of any lure or bait not on or attached to a hook is prohibited. School Knott Tarn
This hill tarn is situated on School Knott Fell just south of Windermere. It is a small tarn stocked annually with rainbow trout. Fishing is strictly by fly only with a two fish bag limit. Windermere Lake Shore - Graythwaite Estates
The Windermere, Ambleside & District Angling Association controls the fishing on 4 miles of lake shore owned by Graythwaite Estate. The frontage is situated on the western bank of Windermere's south basin and offers good fishing for brown trout, roach, perch, eels and pike. The fishery is open all year round but from mid-March until mid-June the only permitted baits are worm, minnow, shrimp, prawn, fly, sea deadbaits or lure. For further information, contact WADAA.
